Good news. If there is no solution, then there is no problem.

We are at the entelechy* of reality, let’s not make a big deal of it.

Will we not stop fearing if we stop hoping?

Let’s not wait for the ashes to cool. Let us rebuild the world. Without any cynicism, what difference does it make? Our civilisation will remain, after all, as that of the rise and fall of ideologies, of Promethean dreams turning into nightmares and of absolute pride, of denial and repression.

Let us celebrate the world while renouncing it. Let us worship the quiet enjoyment of a world in transition, the innocent and ephemeral pleasure, the contentment of our own precarious existence. The great charm of life is in its decline.

And in these circumstances, it seems legitimate to express our last wishes and to insist that they be respected and taken seriously.

And no matter how much damage is done, it has no future.

Don’t say anymore: “There is nothing more to do, everything is ruined”, say: “We will meet again. I don’t know where. I don’t know when. But I know that we will meet again one sunny day.”

*Entelechy is a concept that designates the state of that which has been realized, that which has accomplished its end. The oak tree is, for example, the entelechy of the acorn.
